Our Story

Founded by chef Armanda da Luz and daughter Mellissa, Cafe Pastel opened its doors on William Street in Northbridge in late 2021 with one clear mission: to bring the authentic Portuguese Pastel de Nata to Perth.

Drawing on Armanda’s roots as a chef in Portugal, the team hand-rolls each shell every day, using local WA farm eggs and grass-fed butter from Australia and New Zealand.

What began as a tiny takeaway operation focusing on two flavours has since grown into a beloved destination, offering multiple inventive tart varieties, catering, and event services — all while staying true to the simple joy of a freshly baked tart and a well-made coffee.
